You Can't Stay Happy On The Mountain Top!

Huh!

Man! Aren't those mountain top experiences great?!  When was your last one?

Oooh... can I go first?!

Mine was just this morning. I was looking at a YouTube video of "Awesome God" by  Michael W. Smith. The   instrumentation of this song all by itself takes my spirit to a special place but the images of this video sent chills down my spine. The glory of God's creation was displayed in such a way that all I could do was sit back in mouth open awe.

Wow!  I'm amaaaazed at the splendor of God's handiwork. I wanted to sit on that mountain, hugging my knees and not move an inch from that place of complete contentment.  I just wanted to be a spectator.

Wait...did I say spectator?

As much as I was enjoying this time with the Lord, I knew I couldn't stay on that mountain top forever. Sooner or later, God whispers...

"What about the people at the bottom of the mountain?"

You might be tempted to respond, "They can find their way up... right?"

"Go get them.  Show them what I've shown you."

Is it starting to make sense?

What makes the mountain top so glorious is the intimate presence of the Lord ministering past form, fashion and ritual to that place that only He can touch - and that's good but what makes that mountain top experience complete is taking what you've received and sharing it with others.  You're bound to meet someone today who needs some of what you just got.

Take them up that mountain and let God show them what He has shown you...

He is an AWESOME God!

PS:  Relax. The Lord will show you what to do. Be excited as you leave the mountain top....You get to be a part of what God is doing!  Here are some "Mountain Top" songs, available on YouTube,  to get you started:

  • Your Grace Is Enough by Chris Tomlin
  • Mighty To Save by Hillsong
  • Write My Song by Marcus Cole
  • Awesome God by Michael W. Smith w/video and lyrics (YouTube)
